Troels Brandt (1909-1992) came to Greenland in 1938, and he drew and painted portraits of Greenlanders and Danes. At Nuuk Art Museum, you will find two paintings – two portraits of two Greenlanders.

The House of Niels Lynge

The House of Niels Lynge is a small historical treasure at Gertrud Raskvej in Nuuk. In the House of Niels Lynge you will find well-kept historical rooms with the tools and furniture of the 1950s. The house is only open by appointment with Nuuk Art Museum – please contact us by phone (+299) 32 77 33 or email kunstmuseum@sermersooq.gl to make an appointment. We are hoping to open the house more regularly in 2016.

The museum is approximately 600 square meters and includes a large new extension with changing exhibitions. The permanent collection is primarily of works collected by Svend and Helene Junge Pedersen. The permanent exhibition includes an extensive collection of historic art, including works by Emanuel A. Pedersen (1894-1948), Harald Moltke (1871-1960) and Christine Deichmann (1869-1945).
